Dear Principal Hamilton,

My name is Dionne-Danielle Smith, I am applying for the English teacher position at

Vista Grande High School, I am an alumni student of Vista Grande, and I heard of the position

when I was visiting the school. I believe that I would be a good fit for this position, because I am

an alumni of Vista Grande High School, I spent all four years of my high school career at Vista

Grande and I know that being a Spartan means being dedicated to excellence both in and out of a

classroom. Being a Spartan means upholding the highest academic standard. I have received both

my bachelor’s and my master’s degree in Secondary Education in English from Arizona State

University. My mother was a teacher as well, so education is in my blood. I have a love and a

passion for education, nationally on average a student drops out of school every 10 seconds, and

I would like to do my part to try and stop that.

As you can see from my resume Mr. Hamilton, I have received my bachelors as well as

my masters degree in Secondary Education in English from Arizona State, completed my

teachers certification at ASU, and if you look closely you will also that my resume includes both

my academic as well as my athletic accomplishments from my time at Vista Grande High

School. I have a love of education as well as a love for this school.

In Pinal County for a student to graduate high school with honors a student must maintain

a GPA of 3.5 of higher throughout all four years. I went beyond that and maintained a GPA of

4.1 throughout all four years. Went on to Arizona State to continue that trend of excellence

through education, and Mr. Hamilton it is only right that I bring this drive back where it all

began.

Respectfully,

Dionne-Danielle Smith
