Company you would invest in next 10 years

I would invest in Reliance Industries Limited for the next 10 years

because of the company’s successful shift from an oil-led
conglomerate into a more consumer-facing company. The company
favours growth and has adopted a customer-centric approach with
the entry into telecom and retail sectors and leads both the sectors
in India currently. With the increasing market penetration of Jio
and numerous digital services, the company is leveraging its
broadband strength and the impact of digital revolution as much as
possible. By promoting inception of smart and connected ecosystem
with the introduction of JioFiber, the company is maintaining a
good balance between customer convenience and innovation.
Further, Reliance is set to launch its own E-Commerce platform
soon which could be a major disruption in the current scenario of E-
Commerce competition. As the number of people shopping online is
increasing with people from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities expected to shop
online more to gain access to brands which are unavailable nearby,
the company has a long term plan of capturing online as well as
offline retail market by creating links between the online market
and its offline retail stores using the platform.

One challenge you faced and that shaped you as an

individual

The infrastructure for dance was not well developed in NIT Surat
and dance club in the college had very less members due to
inactivity. Being a passionate dancer, I wanted to contribute
towards introducing better opportunities for dance within college.
In my second year of college, I formed my own dance crew to
participate in the competitions organised at national level. I
convinced dancers in my batch to be a part of this crew and
registered for IIT Gandhinagar Cultural fest. I saw this as an
opportunity to attract the attention of college administration to help
improve infrastructure for the club. There were several roadblocks
in terms of funding, practice room and scheduling of practices
depending on the availability of members. We cleared 3 rounds and
were declared the winners of the event. It was the first time in my
life that I led a team and succeeded. The win made me realise how
important it is to be pro-active in life. There was no turning back
after that and in my final year, I was the head of the club. I
introduced many new events within the college, or and led college
crew to win 4 more competitions.

During my school years, I developed a habit of eating a lot of junk

food and as a result, I gained a lot of weight. It was in 11th standard
that I suffered from severe case of jaundice due to intake of
contaminated food and undertook serious treatment while staying
on bed for more than two months. Being in bed for two months
made me realise the importance of health. Once I recovered, I
started working out and gave up any sort of junk food. I made a
habit of going for an evening run and ensured proper nutritious
diet. I further actively started embracing dance as an extracurricular
activity. Within the next six months, I reduced my weight from 80
kg to 67 kg. Such a fitness-oriented mindset made me more
outgoing and disciplined, and kept me motivated to push my
boundaries to deliver my best to other aspects of life as well. I
further trained for running marathons and participated in several
marathon events organised in Surat during my college life. The
quest to stay fit is so engraved within me that I am used to sparing
some time for working out even during semester end exams.

Coming from a joint family, I have always been taught the

importance of trust and unity. I am very passionate about dance. I
have participated in more than 20 dance competitions and events
held at college, district and national level and won most of them.
During my college life, I transitioned from being just a dancer to a
person who danced as well as led. I formed my own dance crew in
college to compete in national level competitions. Over and above
that, I led the college cultural team to several district level
competitions across fashion, theatre, music and dance. I have
always welcomed any possible opportunity to be a leader. Being a
part of Student Council in school and Head of Dance club in college,
gave me first hand experience to manage a team. Taking positions
of responsibility within the college has taught me the importance of
being pro-active in life.
