I. Learning Objectives
at the end of the discussion, the students are expected to:
a) Rearrange the event in the short story through illustrative form
b) Appreciate the theme of the short story through poster making
c) Construct realizations about the short story

II. Subject Matter


Literary Focus: “The Last Leaf” by O. Henry

Materials: laptop, visual aids, white board marker and projector

III. Procedure
A. Daily Routine
a) Prayer
b) Setting Arrangements
c) Attendance

B. Task 1: Snapshots
a) The teacher will show a pictures and the students will try to guest the hidden word.

Motive Question:
What did you observe on what we do earlier?
What words are presented earlier?
Using those words, Can you tell the title of the story we are about to discuss for today?

C. Task 2: Story telling


a) The teacher will ask the student to watch the video about the short story entitled, “ The last
left”. After watching the video, the teacher will ask student to retell the event in the story by
using the illustration provided by the teacher.

D. Task 3: Poster Making


a) The teacher will going to group the students into 4. Each group will come up with a poster
about the theme. It can be a form of drawing or text. After the creation of poster, each group
must present it in front of the class and will explain their poster
E. Task 4: Reflection
a) The teacher will ask the students to write their own reaction on what they’ve learned about
the short story.

F. Assignment:
a) The theme of the story is about selflessness, List down some event you observe in your
environment that do a selflessness act and share it with class.
