Weaving Techniques

How to start
-Get a piece of yarn (arms
length)
-Tie yarn onto needle with
knot
-Tie knot at end of yarn
length (double knot)
-Start weaving with chosen
technique (tabby or pile)
-Once you get to end, pull
yarn all the way through
and tape end to back side
of loom.
-Continue weaving
-When you get to end cut
off from needle, tape on
back, and get new thread
Tabby Weave
-Basic weave
-Over then under, over and
under, repeat until you
reach the other side
-ALWAYS do the opposite
of whatever was done last
(if you went under and to
the right, go over and to
the left)
-With fingers, push yarn
down to cover warp
threads
-When you go back across
pull gently so warp threads
stay straight
 Rya Knot
-Get 2-3 threads of same
color yarn
-pull all strands under two
warp threads
-Pull middle through to
create a loop
-Pull strands on both sides
through the loop and pull
through
-Move knot up and down
loom as desired

-Ends can be cut to be

desired length as needed
