“AMATEUR”
A. Summary
Amateur is the latest movie about someone trying to, eventually, become a professional
athlete—but early on in that quest, when he’s only 14 years old. That person is Terron, a talented
basketball player who also suffers from dyscalculia, which the film simplifies as “number
blindness.” He works around it, for the most part, and finds himself recruited for a high school
team run by Coach Gaines. As such, he has to deal with older, bigger teammates and opponents,
a lack of focus on classes, being away from home. Even though the character have that struggle
as a person he didn’t even give up on his dreams and goals, instead he continue having a hard
word. The movie ended on Terron having major decisions in his career.
B. Lesson Learned
Lesson that I have learned in the story is, no matter what are the struggles you have, just continue
pursuing your dreams until you achieve it. Just keep on going towards your dream because dreams can
achieve by a hard working person.
C. Values
The values I have seen in the movie are perseverance, hard work, determination, strength and
positivity.

D. What will you do if you were in his shoes?

I would’ve done the same as what Terron always does, whatever my situation is, stay positive and
keep going in life. Keep pursuing my dreams by hard work. When I am feeling down I will go home and
get strength to my family and make them as my inspiration like what Terron always does.

E. What are the life goals of the story?

The life goals in the story are Terron to become a better basketball player and to achieve
his dreams.
