Human Anatomy and Physiology

Human anatomy or anthropotomy is the study of the structures and systems of the
human body, and the relationship between its parts. It is also one of the essential basic sciences that are
applied in medicine.

Anatomy has areas of specialization. First is the gross anatomy or macroscopic anatomy.
It is the study of the larger structures of the body, those that can be seen without the use of microscope.
The other one is the microscopic anatomy. It is the study of structures that can be observed only with
the use of microscope or other magnification devices.

On the other hand, physiology deals with the function of the human body parts and how
they work. It is a sub-section of biology, covering topics that include organs and anatomy.

The major systems covered in the study of human physiology are circulatory system,
which includes the heart, blood vessels and blood; digestive and excretory system, ehich includes thr
study of spleen, liver, and pancreas; and respiratory system, which includes the nose, trachea, and lungs.

It is difficult to understand human anatomy without knowledge of physiology and vice

versa. They are being studied together because structure and function are closely related in all living
things.
