Hi Friends, i hope the below information on flights, travel and luggage will be useful.
(notations: *** means "its not much expensive in italy")

first thing is - be calculative while booking your flight tickets. don't only look for cheap flights. suppose if
you find A airline the cheapest like 25000 rs. (one way) but gives you luggage allowance as 23+7+bag
pack and B airline for 28,000 gives you 30+7+bagpack. then prefer to buy from B-airlines. those 7 kg
extra weight will definitely going to cover goods of worth more than 5000 rs. here in italy.

most of you might be traveling for the first time in international flights. most of you may also face a
layover during your journey and your flight will not be direct. don't worry about layover. keep in mind
while booking your ticket that the layover should not be less than 1hr (60 mins). I would advice to keep it
as 3 hrs. this is because your first flight if by chance gets delay than you won't miss the connecting flight.
also the security check at some airports takes more time than usual. do not go out of the airport on
transit visa as you have less time and also you have to carry your hand bag with you all the time. keep
you passport and valuable things with you safely in an water proof envelope or specially made passport
pouch. be careful about your stuff during the security checking as most of the commuters forget their
valuable thing or passport at security checking. also keep your boarding pass of onward journey carefully.

and they do not charge any fine for little extra weight.)

TO buy from DUty free at the airports:

if you smoke then please don't forget to buy cigarettes. cigarettes are very very expensive. you can buy 2
boxes (20 packets) of cigarettes from duty free shop. the purchase from duty free shop at airport are not
counted in your luggage weight. don't buy alcoholic drinks, its cheap in Italy.

do not keep the restricted materials or items mentioned on the airline web-site with you. follow those
instructions carefully to avoid any delay and trouble during your journey. keep your self light and put all
the important things (except for your passport and cash / cards) in the hand bag or bag pack.

in plane you get entertainment; food (if you have preferred choice of food like veg, jain food, indian food
then please mentioned while booking your ticket or inform airline company via e-mail before the flight
day or before taking your boarding pass at the airline counter.), alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (drink
alcohol less than your capacity) drink ample amount of water. also you can ask for tooth-brush kit and
refreshing kit in the plane its free of charge.

may things in italy are expensive comparing to Indian-sub-continent. try to bring things which will be
useful and do the calculation of the price difference.
