Five - week preceptorship consisting of three, 12 hour shifts a week providing care for adult
patients in transition to recovery and in need of intense monitoring. Responsibilities include:
telemetry, arterial lines, vasoactive drips, surgical drains, tubes, wound care, and ventilator
management. 1:3 nurse/patient ratio with patient acuity ranging from a wide variety of chronic
diseases with multiple diagnoses to detox psychiatric and surgical post-op patients. Developed
and improved skills on interdisciplinary team communication, collaboration, task management,
prioritization and organization of care.

270 hours dedicated to learning and caring for patients in the surgical/trauma, neurological, and

drains, electroencephalography monitoring, intravenous push medication administration, chest
tubes, enteral/parenteral nutrition, and vascular access devices.
