Abstract

Pollution level increases day by day all over the world. That’s affect green effect of our
environment so that it’s very difficult take breath in this pollution world just like our county’s
capital Delhi situation. Main reason of pollution is heavy numbers Co2 gas emits from oil
operated vehicle. So that in this thesis we provide paper work and experiments of electric
vehicle with lithium ion and life of battery. So that it will decrease pollution level up to
maximum extent. Development of alternate energy storage systems for transportation use has
been driven by a combination of environmental preservation, fossil fuel price volatility and
energy security concerns. Lithium-ion battery has emerged as a favored choice, however its
energy density is still orders of magnitude lower than the fossil fuel. There is significant room
for improvement in the battery cell and electric vehicle system designs. The objective of this
thesis is to automate the design optimization of the lithium-ion battery pack. To achieve this
goal three separate optimization problems were formulated to provide guidelines on the cell
parameters at optimal solutions.

I also emphasis is laid on understanding the prevalent methods of regeneration and

designing a new strategy that better suits the battery performance. A performance index is
chosen which aims at minimizing the effort of regeneration along with a minimum deviation
from the rated maximum thresholds for cell temperature and regeneration current. Tuning
capability is provided for both temperature deviation and current deviation so that it can be
tuned based on requirement and battery chemistry and parameters

Electric vehicles are currently the best choice for the environment in terms of public and
personal transportation. Because of its high energy and current density, lithium-ion batteries
are widely used in electric vehicles. Unfortunately, lithium-ion batteries can be dangerous if
they are not operated within their Safety Operation Area (SOA). Therefore, a battery
management system (BMS) must be used in every lithium ion battery, especially for those used
in electric vehicles.
