SPIRAL CASE CONCRETE PLACING PROCEDURE

1. Spiral Case concrete placing procedure starts when pressure of Hydrostatic Test is down and
keep at 3.9 Mpa.
2. Reinforcing Bar of Spiral Case’s concrete block is installed to EL +294.60. Piezometer pipa is
installed up to this elevation too.

3. Install Pit Liner above stay ring and all pipes connected to the Pit Liner.
4. Assemble rebar for servomotor base into the surface of concrete at least 350 mm. This is
convenient for the fixing of servo motor base.

5. After all rebar of spiral case, rebar above spiral case (starter rebar for Barrel Turbin), and
piezomenter pipe in related elevation already installed, concrete placing is ready to be done.
6. When placing, should evenly place concrete to avoid slant. The deviation of concrete height
must be less 300 mm.
7. Pay attention to the use of concrete vibrators when compacting concrete. The use of concrete
vibrators will not be permitted closer than 1500 mm to any part of the spiral case or stay ring.
8. The speed of concrete placing should be less than 300 mm/h .
9. Record about level of surface for bottom ring and axes of stay ring during concrete placing.
10. Record about the pressure, water temperature, and the temperature of stay ring.
11. Record about concrete quantity, speed, and method.
12. After concrete reaches minimum 28 days, pressure from Hydrostatic Test can be removed.
13. Perform grouting around spiral case and stay ring. Position of grouting pipe as shown below.

14. Record the level of assembly surface for bottom ring on stay ring while grouting.
15. After all the procedure of concrete placing and grouting is complete, inspect the dimensions
of spiral case according to the Standard.
