BEED- Gen. Ed. 1. What is Strategic Intervention Material (SIM)? Strategic Intervention Material is an instructional material meant to reteach concept and skills. These are materials given to learners to help them master a competency-based skill which were not able to develop during regular classroom teaching. 2. What are the parts of SIM? Describe each part. Guide Card- it gives an overview of the lesson, it also presents focus skills and engages the learners interest. Activity Card- it defines the tasks that the learner should undertake in order to develop a skill. Assessment Card- it helps the learner to measure his/her level of mastery of the skill upon completion of the tasks/ Enrichment Card- it provides opportunity to apply learned concept in a new context, it also extends learning by providing additional exercises for further application of knowledge. Reference Card- it provides additional content to the average in the textbook. Answer Key Card- it contains all the answer to the different activities found in the activity cards, as well as answers to the assessment cards and enrichment cards. 3. What are the advantages and uses of SIM in teaching science? Explain. Strategic intervention material is an effective strategic teaching aids for teachers. It is also used for remediation purposed and it is one of the solutions to enhance the academic achievements of the learners.
