Thank you for granting this wonderful opportunity and considering my application. I am now specializing
in Flight controls where my courses, Navigation and Guidance Control, Applied Nonlinear Control deal a
lot with control laws. I also am in Professor Gorodetsky’s group which focuses on autonomous aircraft
for which I’m now coming up with reduced order models for the flow domain of the aircraft. As I worked
in professor’s research group, I developed inclination towards path planning and stochastic analysis.
Apart from that I’m a part of the Michigan VTOL group where I’m responsible for the complete
autonomy of the scaled aircraft we are coming up. Presently, I’m working on coming up with efficient
Kalman filters for the IMU sensors and comparing its effectiveness over rate gyros. I strongly believe
that I’m a suitable candidate for your Controls team, as I can come up with efficient modules that drives
towards the success of the project. Furthermore, your project will help me gain insights of real-time
application of the chalk and talk experience I have had in my controls courses. My future goal is to
establish a career path in navigation and guidance control of vehicles and an opportunity to work in your
project would not just be motivating but also enable me to analyze my skills and develop them
accordingly so that I remain intact on my path to becoming a GNAC engineer.
