NEAR THE DOOR

CLOSING THE DOOR

Before closing the door, make sure the floor area
at the door scuff plate is cleared of debris and the
escape slide girt bar is held against the catches
on the floor. And also if there is debris or the
escape slide girt bar is not held against the
catches on the floor, the flight might need to
return to bay for engineering to check for debris
DOOR OPENED FROM
OUTSIDE
When the aircraft beacon is on, the aircraft doors
are not to be opened. The door can "blow" open
and causes serious injuries.
Note: Do not open any aircraft doors if the
beacon light is on. Ask the engineer on the
ground to communicate with the flight crew
before doing so.
OPENED B744 DOORS
3L&R AND 5L&R
B747-400 over wing dooors 3 L&R are difficult to
closed. It is therefore not advisable to open the
doors when the aircraft is fully loaded. Closing
the door can result in muscle strain and flight
delay.
The doors 5L&R are opened with an oblique
slant with the door cutout. The door must be
closed properly and extra care must be given
when closing three doors.
OPENED CARGO
DOORS
Due to geoolmetric design, the door will swing
downwards during the opening cycle. The cargo has
depressor seals and the slightest contact with the
equipment can damage the depressor seals.
Keep the top of the loading equipment and guide
bars away from the swing path of the door. The
damaged area must be repaired before the flight.
