Contoh Kalimat:

 Her son is an annoying boy. I never want to play with him.

 That was a boring movie, I was asleep during the movie.

2. Verb -ing Sebagai Gerund

Gerund merupakan kata benda yang berasal dari kata kerja bentuk ing. Seperti yang sudah
dijelaskan di atas, meskipun ia berbentuk Verb ing, namun dalam kalimat fungsinya tetap
sebagai Noun.
Contoh kalimat:

 Knitting is my mother’s hobby. She has made some beautiful stuffs for us.
 We love playing cards to kill time.
 My favorite activity during my spare time is reading books.
 We always remind him to stop smoking in order to stay healthy.
 My hobby is diving.

Itulah berbagai contoh kalimat Bahasa Inggris yang menggunakan Verb-ing. Meskipun
semuanya menggunakan Verb -ing, namun tidak semua Verb -ing tersebut memiliki fungsi yang
