your City Card
ACTIVATION OF YOUR CARD

Please note:
To visit the Van Gogh Museum, you must book your compulsory
time slot ticket in advance at iamsterdam.com/timeslot

Free unlimited use of GVB public transport in Amsterdam
On GVB buses, trams and metros, simply check in and out on
every journey by holding your card against the card reader. Use of
night buses is included in the City Card.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Surcharges
Please note that you may be required to pay a supplement to
visit special exhibitions in museums and for special boat tours, for
instance during the Amsterdam Light Festival (Nov-Jan).

Public transport

Free use of Amsterdam's public transport
The I amsterdam City Card provides you with free use of
Amsterdam's public transport. The public transport component
of your Card is activated when you first check in on a GVB bus,
tram or metro. After activation, each component is valid for 24,
48, 72, 96 or 120 hours, depending on the duration of your card
of choice. It's also valid for transport at night, on night buses, but
keep in mind that trams and metros stop running after 00:30.

Rembrandt-Velázquez

A comprehensive overview of the extraordinary paintings by
the two great 17th century Masters from the Netherlands and
Spain. Thanks to a unique collaboration between the Museo
del Prado and the Rijksmuseum, masterpieces by Velázquez
and Rembrandt, as well as Murillo, Vermeer, Zurbarán, Hals and
Ribera, are displayed together for the first time.

Young Rembrandt

Almost 400 years after their creation, works produced in Leiden
by the now internationally famous Master return to the city of
his birth. With approximately 40 paintings, 120 etchings and 20
drawings on show, visitors can see how the young painter’s talent
developed and flourished.

Rembrandt and the Mauritshuis

The Mauritshuis has one of the world’s most renowned and
important collections of paintings by Rembrandt. The museum is
exhibiting all of the 18 paintings in its collection that are or have
been attributed to Rembrandt as well as paintings that are no
longer considered to be by Rembrandt and are rarely, if ever,
on display.

The Mauritshuis presents the first retrospective exhibition of
Nicolaes Maes, one of Rembrandt’s most talented pupils. Featur-
ing over 30 paintings, the exhibition shows Maes’ varied oeuvre,
from the biblical representations he painted at the start of his
career through his intimate domestic scenes of subsequent years
to his elegant style of portraiture from the 1660s onwards.

times per hour. Please note: Opening hours and departure
times may change during public events for instance, during the
