Carl Bernstien and Bob Woodward are journalist who both work for the same news company,

The Washington Post and are co-working on a story surrounding the Watergate Scandal of
1972 during Presidents Nixon's re-election. It starts off by putting us in the middle of the break in
at the Democractic National Committee (DNC) headquarters at the Watergate office building in
Washington, D.C., by five men. Carl Bernstien is on the story and later is partnered with
Woodward as they uncover more and more information that could potentially be dangerous.
Woodward contacts a senior government official, an anonymous source who he has used before
and refers to as "Deep Throat." where he speaks in riddles, avoiding substantial facts about the
Watergate break-in. From the information that “Deep Throat” gives them, telling them to ‘follow the
money’, they realize that the small story is really a big one that could potentially hurt the government
and the Party to Re-elect Nixon. While hanging on to this clue and running with it, both men make
discoveries of their own and their demand for thoroughness makes other sources, like government
officials and secretaries of the party, to confirm the Haldeman connection, the White House issued a
denial of the Washington Post's story. Woodward and Bernstein learn that their lives, and others, are
in danger but still urge on, despite the risk from Nixon's re-election. On January 20, 1973, Bernstein
and Woodward type the full story, while Nixon is shown winning the election and taking the Oath of
Office for his second term as President. You later learn to discover that after the full story was printed
of the scandal, headline after headline are released, moving steps further until you read the headline
that Nixon resigned from office.

This movie was quite thrilling throughout the whole time with a lot of suspense onto what
would happen next in their discoveries. The actors were all very good at their roles, so there
was nothing that felt off or boring to watch even though it was more of a history film. The plot
itself was very well written too; it seemed like a mystery you wanted to solve yourself and it
draws you in to keep wanting to know what happens after, waiting for all characters to see the
bigger picture.

What I didn’t enjoy so much was the ending or how little I saw after their first full story
was published over this issue, I would have liked it more if it showed clips rather than headline
titles. I barely had any empathy for Nixon and the intermediate individuals who were in denial
with it as well because I never saw scenes of them discussing the issue, with it only being
outside individuals of the issue speaking up. Also the ending just felt kind of blank to me and I
wish there was more.

Overall, the movie was really good and both Woodward and Bernstien deserve all the
credit for uncovering what truly happened with the Watergate Scandal and the direction was
smart for putting the movie together how he did. I would definitely recommend this movie to
people who love unsolving things, crime, and news type of categories. It’s a great movie to
watch if you want something that pulls you in the entire time while also educating you.
