1.Define the ff. terms:

a. Technology Literacy - is the ability to use, manage, understand, and


assess technology.

b. Media Literacy - Ability to critically assess the accuracy and validity of


information transmitted by the mass media (press, television, radio, and the
internet) and to produce information via any medium.

c. Information Literacy - Information literacy is the set of integrated abilities


encompassing the reflective discovery of information, the understanding of
how information is produced and valued, and the use of information in
creating new knowledge and participating ethically in communities of
learning.

d. Media & Information Literacy-It could be information from other persons,


the media, libraries, archives, museums, publishers, or other information
providers including those on the Internet.

2.How does media & information evolved throughout the history? Identify
and described the four ages.

Pre-Industrial Age (Before 1700's) -People discovered fire, developed paper


from plant, and forged weapons and tools with stone, bronze, copper and
iron.

Industrial Age (1700s-1930s) -People used the power of steam, developed


machine tools, established iron production, and manufacturing of various
products (including books through the printing press).

Electronic Age (1930s-1980s) - The invention of the transistor ushered in the


electronic age. People harnessed the power of transistor that led transistor
radio, electronic circuits and the early computers. In this age, long distance
communication became more efficient.

New/Information Age (1900s-2000s) - The internet paved the way for faster
communication and the creation of the social network. People advanced the
use of microelectronics with the invention of personal computers, mobile
devices, and wearable technology. Moreover, voice, image, sound and data
are digitalized. We are now living in the information age.
