Lira 3 : So Professor B since ayon nga sa survey last week may tanong ang ating mga MILF students mula
sa PCSHS regarding sa types of media so ano-ano nga ba yun at ang mga meaning ng bawat type

Bialen 2 : Bale meron tayong tatlong types of media at eto ang mga: Print Media, Broadcast Media at
Digital or New Media

Let's start with Print Media

Print Media - media consisting of paper or ink, reproduced in a printing process that is traditionally
mechanical. Sa madaling salita ito yung madalas na nakalimbag sa papel at gumagamit ng napakaraming
ink. Halimbawa na lamang nito ay Newspaper, Books, Magazines, Comics, Brochures
April 3 : O siya ating talakayin naman ang Broadcast Media kasama pa rin natin si Professor B

Bialen 3 : so ayun ang Broadcast Media - is a media such as radio and television that reach target
audiences using airwaves as the transmission medium. Sa madaling salita ito yung kinakailangan ng
signal halimbawa na lamang ito ang radio broadcasting.

are organized and distributed on digital platforms

Take note lang guys na ang digital refers to something using digits, particularly binary digits. Example na
lamang nito ay ang computer.

ang kanilang kaalaman tungkol sa Media Convergence

Michelle 2: So media convergence happen when (2 or more) media sources join together. It allows
media texts to be produced and distributed on multiple devices. It is also the ability to transform
different kinds of media into digital code, which is then accessible by a range of devices.

Lira 7: O siya may tanong ang isa sa ating curious na student mula sa PCSHS. Ang tanong niya sino daw
ba si Henry Jenkins?

Leeoo 2: Bale si Henry Jenkins siya ay isang Media Theorist Henry Jenkins na ayon sa kanya convergence
isn’t an end result but instead a process that changes how media is both consumed and produced. Kaya
naman may 5 categories siya.

Lira 7: Ano- no naman iyun maam L? at pakipaliwanag na rin sa ating mga listeners ng sila’y
maliwanagan

Leeoo 3: Bale ang mga ito ay Global convergence na kung saan when geographically distant cultures are
able to influence one another. Meron rin tayong economic convergence na kung saan when a single
company has interests across many kinds of media. Tapos meron rin tayong Organic convergence na
kung saan ito ay isang multimedia multitasking, or the “natural” outcome of a diverse media world. Ang
pang-apat naman ay ang cultural convergence it is when stories flow across several kinds of media
platforms, and when readers or viewers can comment on, alter, or otherwise talk back to culture. Ang
panghuli ay ang Technological convergence na kung saan different kinds of technology merge. The most
extreme example of technological would be the black box na kung saan one machine that controlled
every media function.

Sherman Young na Networked Digital Media in Everyday Life na kung saan ipapaliwanag naman
Professor M ang isang bahagi nito.

Michelle 4: So ayun nga ayon sa 2 manunulat na ito may 4 na dimentions at ang mga ito ay:

Technological – the combination of computing, communications and content around networked digital
media platforms;

Industrial – the engagement of established media institutions in the digital media space, and the rise of
digitally-based companies such as Google, Apple, Microsoft and others as significant media content
providers;

Social – the rise of social network media such as Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube, and the growth of
user-created content; and

Lastly Textual – the re-use and remixing of media into what has been termed a ‘transmedia’ model,
where stories and media content (for example, sounds, images, written text) are dispersed across
multiple media.

Lira 8: ah so ayun pala kaya naman bili na kayo ng librong yan bale ano naman meron sa pagshift ng
digital platforms. Pati digital platforms may night shift charot.

Leeoo 4: so ang pagshift ng digital platforms ay may 4 ulit ang una ay ang pagkakaroon ng adoption of
high performance comupters, shift to digital platforms, and creation of high-speed computer networks
have brought us news of doing things. Isa pa ang old barriers of time and space are eliminated. You can
view, hear, or read virtually anything, anywhere, anytime.

Michelle 5: the old definitions that provided separation between Radio, TV, cable, newspaper, and film
hav (or are going forever.). Ang panghuli the 1990’s brought ownership convergence, creating media
conglomerates like Disney, Viacom, and Sony. From the consumer view, the Internet has recently
changed our favorite delivery systems – newspaper now provide video, TV offers interactive chat, and
radio has web-cams.
