Universal Design for Learning (UDL): This lesson will be a great example of UDL. The PowerPoint that I
created I also turned into an audiobook by doing a voiceover and converting it to an mp4. This is very
beneficial to ELL students and those with hearing or vision impairments because they can listen as many times
as they need to as well as follow along with the pictures and read the words on the screen
Lesson idea implementation: I will present my homemade audiobook to the class and have students answer
questions as they follow along. I will then present the students with the rest of the lesson. I will give them
voice and choice by providing them with two options: they can either write a paragraph about each season, or
they can draw a picture of themselves during each season. In each they will have to either discuss or display
the unique qualities of each season and represent how they are each so different.
Reflective Practice: The activities in my lesson plan include visual and audio features that support all learners.
They also are more likely to engage students by providing voice and choice. To extend this lesson I could have
students create their own audiobooks about a season that they choose. They will have to research and make
their audiobook from scratch.
