A. POPULATION
1. Total
Based on the 2018 census, the population of Lincolnshire is 1,087,659. Or the
county ranked 18th for the population in England.
2. Genuine People
During pre-Roman times, most of Lincolnshire was inhabited by the Corieltauvi
people. The Corieltauvi were a largely agricultural people who had few strongly
defended sites or signs of centralised government. They appear to have been a
federation of smaller, self-governing tribal groups.
3. Language
The language of the area at that time would have been Common Brittonic, the
precursor to modern Welsh. The name Lincoln derives from the Brittonic “Lindo”
meaning 'lake'.

 Lincoln Longwool, is a breed of sheep from England. The Lincoln is the
largest British sheep, developed specifically to produce the heaviest,
longest and most lustrous fleece of any breed in the world.
 Lincoln Red, is an old breed of beef cattle, originating from Lincolnshire
in eastern England. They were selectively bred from the indigenous
draught cattle of the region by crossing with the Durham type Shorthorn
to produce a dual purpose breed. They are now a specialist beef breed.

le Wold. Some parts of the Fens may be below sea level. The nearest
mountains are in Derbyshire.

 A Lincolnshire tradition was that front doors were used for only three
things: a new baby, a bride, and a coffin.
 The Lincolnshire bagpipe, an instrument derided as a coarse and
unpleasant instrument in contemporary literature, but noted as very
popular in the county.
 The Lincolnshire Poacher, a traditional English folk song associated with
the county of Lincolnshire, and deals with the joys of poaching. It is
considered to be the unofficial county anthem of Lincolnshire.
