Ladies and gentlemen, we are the opposition and we are hereby to discuss about the suspension
of K-12 program in the Philippines. We know that k-12 curriculum was an additional school year
needed to undergo for a high school to graduate. It is also known as preparatory for college, but
are we prepared enough to handle the law
According to Representative Roman Romulo he claims that the public school will shoulder the
burden additional expenses for the school necessities. He also mentions that the teachers could
lose their jobs in the first two years of the program because there would no freshmen enrolling in
the college at that time

Another research that I conducted that according to stop k-12 alliance, said that K-12 is not a
solution to unemployment in our country however will just bring additional burden to Filipino
youth and their parents. In additional Education experts in an in-country study “Length of School
Cycle and the Quality of Education” concluded that there is “no basis” behind the claim that lengthening
the education cycle will improve quality of education. Even without K-12, the government’s budgetary
allocation for education could not even address the severe lack of classrooms, teachers, textbooks, desks,
sanitation and water facilities, and other basic needs
