When I say "on all sides" I mean that wherever you go, someone will always offer
you a song.

Breakfast, a half morning, in the street for a thousand pesos, after a lunch, in a
work meeting, in an outing with friends ... In Colombia we drink and this is not a
surprise for those who know that this country is The fourth producer of coffee in the
world and that leads the first place when we talk about the softness of the grain.
Of course, do not expect in any sense that you take here is a delight for the sense
of taste; The best thing is that we look for coffee shops or brands specialized in
offering organic products, grown by coffee communities that guarantee an
exquisite and unique flavor.

2. Is there something to celebrate? What a sea with rumba!

Any reason is good to meet with family and friends, drink some spirits and dancers
until the early hours.

To those who do not know what aguardiente is (also called aguardientico by

Colombians who are very fond of it), it is an anise liqueur that is very consumed
throughout Colombia, which is served in small shots and accompanied by a glass
of ice water. if the first drinks are very strong; because those who follow already do
not feel.

The desire to take it increases when rumba music begins to play, which usually
rotates between salsa, reggaetón, vallenato, cumbia or any other Caribbean
rhythm, which accompanies any moment of celebration. So, tropical dance +
brandy? Solve the equation.

3. An arepa always calms hunger Here each region specializes in preparing their
own arepa, but all share the basics and that is that they are made with corn and
are consumed at any time of the day.

The paisas prepare the best known arepa and also the simplest: flat, white corn, to
accompany any meal; although it is much better enjoyed with cheese, scrambled
eggs, chorizo or beans on top. They also have the famous chocolo arepa, made
with sweeter corn and served with butter and fresh cheese, a delight !.

The coast has a very particular one: the egg arepa that, by means of a delicate and
very skillful preparation, results in a crispy mass of fried corn stuffed with a
perfectly cooked egg; A delicacy!

Although perhaps the rarest, and not the least rich, is the santandereana, which is
prepared with yellow corn, wood ash dissolved in water and, in some cases,
chicharrón minced or yucca. There are many others, such as Boyacense mixed
with curd, butter, salt and panela; the one of mote that is prepared of the corn with
bran, the arepeula of corn with panela, the one of chicharrón kneaded with lard of
pork ... an endless list, so better they come and try them.
