EXPERIMENT No. 1
1.0 Title:
To know your Fluid Mechanics laboratory.
2.0 Prior concepts:
Curriculum contents, scope of work, planning, assessment.
3.0 New concepts:
Proposition 1:
Laboratory Experiments are expected to develop Intellectual skills, motor skills, and
positive attitude in the students and make them apply the theoretical concept of the
subject on the laboratory floor.
Concept Structure:
Proposition 2:
Logical Thinking is developed in students through system approach, content analysis
and planning of laboratory work.
Concept Structure:
Hydraulic Machines include Francis, Kaplan and Pelton wheel Turbines, centrifugal and
reciprocating pumps. Measuring devices includes pressure gauges, Manometer,
venturimeter, Rotameter, Measuring tank, scale, stop watch etc. This helps to carry out
Laboratory work smoothly.
Concept Structure:
Motor Skills:
Ø Ability to draw layout of laboratory.
Ø Ability to draw sketch of Equipments and Instruments.
Ø Ability to locate Facilities, Equipments and Instruments in the laboratory.
Ø Ability to list Flow Measuring devices.
6.0 Observations:
