Fluid Mechanics and Machinery [9054} Experiment No.

EXPERIMENT No. 1
1.0 Title:
To know your Fluid Mechanics laboratory.
2.0 Prior concepts:
Curriculum contents, scope of work, planning, assessment.
3.0 New concepts:
Proposition 1:
Laboratory Experiments are expected to develop Intellectual skills, motor skills, and
positive attitude in the students and make them apply the theoretical concept of the
subject on the laboratory floor.
Concept Structure:

Proposition 2:
Logical Thinking is developed in students through system approach, content analysis
and planning of laboratory work.
Concept Structure:

Proposition 3: Fluid Mechanics

It is the science of the Mechanics of Fluids. It is used to denote matter in liquid or gaseous
phase. As opposed to a solid, a fluid will undergo continues deformation when subjected to
shearing forces and the deformation will continue so long as the shearing force continues
to act on the fluid body.
Proposition 4: Equipments in Fluid Mechanics Laboratory
It includes various Equipments such as Hydraulic Machines and Measuring Equipments.
