Music in History

Relevant SC Standards:

Description: This app lesson will develop 8th-9th grade general music students’
musical relationships and thoughts by heightening their skills of music throughout
history.

Instructional Objective: Students will be able to analyze and discuss how music has
changed throughout history and has also stayed relevant/the same. How has music
been an influence on history?

Step 1 Content-Based or Skill-Based App: Students will use this app to search through
the musical timeline or find a certain composer to research for our upcoming project.

Step 2 Content-Based or Skill-Based App: Students will listen to and analyze classical
music (appropriate to their chosen time period/composer) and record their thoughts
and findings to later share with the class.
