Seminar on Standard Costing and Cost Variance

Students of AIMS IHE were fortunate to grab this opportunity and enhance their knowledge in this
area with some of the well-known personalities in this field who would share their experiences and
knowledge with them.

This seminar was conducted on 21st March 2018 at AIMS Auditorium and was scheduled from 2pm
to 5pm. The speakers of the seminar were Mr. Moosal Kazim and Mr. Sanjay Singh.

Mr. Kazim the CFO of UBS Kazakhstan is a very knowledgeable person and also has a very firm
grip on the subjects like budgeting, forecasting, reporting etc. He explained this with examples by which we
were able to understand it in an easy manner.

In extension to his speech, students were introduced to the CMA certification, the importance and
benefits of this certification and career opportunities that are open if one adopts this certification course. It
can be useful for anyone who is looking for a career in accounting and other related finance domains. Hence,
students got the information and were able to clear many of their doubts.

International Round Table Conference


The prime objective of ACS is to facilitate, collaborate and connect academia and industry through
progressive initiative in the field of sustainability and share the best practice, methodologies and technologies
adopted anywhere in the world.

The Round Table Conference which happened on 6th April, 2018 aimed towards bringing together
sustainability and circular economy experts from Europe and India, Academicians from Europe and India,
Senior level corporate executives, Manufacturing and Service industry experts, Economist , NGOs and
Government officials, who will discuss and debate the new role of circular economy to achieve global
sustainability.

ACS planned to have wide range of interactive interdisciplinary discussions by domain experts and
research paper presentations. RTC generated a better understanding, appreciation of the role of circular
economy in achieving global sustainability.
Athlen 2K18

The department of B.Com organized a three


day sports event Athlen 2k18 from 6th to 8th of
March. It was an intra collegiate competition where
the students of MBA department participated in
various sports like kabaddi, basketball, throw ball,
ring tennis, etc. and won the overall championship
trophy on 8th March, 2018.

Yes, the Women's Day celebration in AIMS campus happened on 19th March, 2018 in the auditorium.
It was a glorious event where the women of AIMS campus came together to celebrate their womanhood. There
were various programs like singing, dancing, fashion show and games. All the beautiful ladies from different
departments came together and made this event a very successful one! Kudos to all the beautiful ladies out there!

The competition had a total of 5 rounds


where there was elimination in each round. The
rounds were completely based on the HR topics.
Five teams out of forty eight teams were shortlisted
for the last round.

There was a strong competition that was been


observed between the teams with the very marginal
difference of score. The team from BBA, Mr.
Mohammed Yasir and Mr. Chetan became the
winner and were awarded with the trophies and cash
prize of Rs. 1,000 each. Mr. Girish and Mr. Biswajit
being the first runner up from MBA were awarded
with trophies and cash prize of Rs. 750 each. Mr.
Nadeem and Mr. Manuram being the second runner
up from MBA were awarded with trophies and cash
prize of Rs.500 each.
Ignite, did not end here. The fun of
putting up the stalls by the students of AIMS-IHE
spread all over the college on the second day.
Various students and faculty members actively
took part in all the stalls which made the day
harmonious. The stall members gave their best in
everything they could.

The winner of the best stall award was given to Ms. Nirmali, Ms. Dolly, Ms. Manorama and Ms. Razia
of MBA department. They prepared and offered most delicious food stall with wonderful time management
and coordination of the team members. The fest turned out to be a successful one because of the team work,
every individual had contributed towards the fest. And this was possible by the support of the faculty members
of the department and especially the backbone of the HR club Ataraxia, Prof. Kalpana Venugopal who has
always encouraged and motivated students for the betterment of their career.
Industrial Visit

The students were ready for the industrial visit to the UNIBIC Industries in May 2018 with full
enthusiasm. Mr. Mehtab of Corporate and Public Relations and Mr. Sandesh Bhat, Professor of MBA
department were the faculty members who accompanied the students to the UNIBIC Factory. The
students were taken inside the UNIBIC Factory where the Quality Executive gave us an insight about
the UNIBIC Factory. Students learnt about the various processes followed to make the delicious
cookies from the mixing of the dough to the packing of the cookies in attractive wrappers. It was indeed
a learning experience for AIMERS!

Proving Their Grounds


The college fest is the event that students eagerly
wait to showcase their talent and experience new ideas.

AIMS believe in encouraging students to participate in external activities, where they can explore themselves
in technical, cultural, management fest and get to learn more beyond the academics by attending workshops.

The students of MBA department participated in the management competition MIME ECLAT by Jain
University which was held on 23rd and 24th of March 2018. The Best Management Team competition had
various tasks to be done for two days and the winners of this competition were from AIMS Institutes. The
winners are Shaik Abdul Nadeem Rabani, Nailesh Chikkamath and Suraj Mangale.

A group of aspiring students went to the AIT campus with a hope to win the management and cultural fest
so held. The fest was held on 17th of May. A bunch of MBA Student participated in different event such as
Finance, Synergy, Business Quiz, HR, and Marketing. It was great to see that the students performed really well
and not just they won in their area of interest but they also won the house cup for the college. The students who
won prizes were

They were given certificates and cash prize by the chief guest. The conduction of this National Level
Intercollegiate Management and Cultural fest was called as “EXUBERANCE”
Bidding Adieu…

AIMS Institutes on 12th June2018 celebrated the most joyous day, as the PG Graduation Day,
congratulating and wishing all the final year PG students to soar high in their career. The occasion was
inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. C C Lakshmanan, ITC Ltd. Chief Scientist, Research & Technology,
Research and development, Guest of Honor : Mr. AK Tareen, Trade & Investment, Sultanate of Oman
and Former Senior Trade Commissioner Government of Australia, Dr. Kerron Reddy - Principal and
Dr. Sheri Kurian - Registrar. The students were really excited to put on the robes and march towards
the auditorium to warmly welcome the new beginning- their life. The guests on the dice encouraged the
students to move forward and not to lose heart when they see slight failure in their career path.

After the inauguration ceremony the


students were awarded with prizes, with their
proud parents’ witnessing. In the afternoon,
the Ceremony began with the PG farewell,
where the juniors warmly wished their
seniors ‘all the best’ for their future, shared
videos and pictures of their memories that
they have had and encouraged them to fulfil
their dreams.
There was the cultural program where students from all the departments participated in
singing, dancing, mad-ads, mimicry and games. It was a joyous event where the students and
faculty members had a great time together!

The Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Bangalore had organized a one
day event FKCCI CSR Conference and Awards 2018 on 21st June 2018. Fifty students from MBA
department were selected to be the volunteers for that day. Students got an opportunity to learn from the talks
from various dignitaries present that day. Various awards for the best CSR implementation in their respective
companies was recognized and awarded.
The Concours de Jeunes Chefs Rotisseurs
India 2018 was conducted in June at The Lalit Ashok,
Bangalore. Six students from MBA department were
selected to be the volunteers for the same. The
competition was for one day where the young chefs
had come from different institutions to participate and
win the prize!

Mock Interview

The students of MBA department were offered


with a very good opportunity to learn and improve their skills in the
interview. MBA department in collaboration with Mind Parkour had
organized a Mock Interview on 23rd of June2018. The students
attended the interview, where-in, the interviewer asked the
questions to the student and interviewed just as it would happen in
the real world.

The students benefited greatly from this and learnt a lot and became
more industry ready for the future!

Throughout the year C and PR were able bring in big players in the market to our college
for placements and internship. Few of the big names among them are Amazon, ITC, Axis Bank
etc. More than 80% of the students got placements from a highest package of 12 lakhs and an
average of 4.5 lakhs.

Social Business Day showcases the concept of social business with leading experts in
the field. The annual event attracts the participation of international and local actors, corporate
and social leaders, NGOs, students, and innovators, and connects them with the social business
network. It also creates an opportunity for participants to engage in different interactive plenary
sessions and workshops to broaden their understanding in specific areas of interest.

Social Business Day is an annual conference hosted by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Prof.
Muhammad Yunus. This is the first time it is being hosted in India on 28th and 29th of June
2018 in Infosys Campus, Bangalore.
