I am writing to you to express my interest in applying for a high school mathematics teaching
position in your school district. As a student at Aurora University, I have had student teaching
experience in all four high school grade level, in both suburban and urban school districts. I
believe my teaching experience and passion for student learning make me an ideal candidate for
a teaching position at your school.

I have experience teaching high school students in a variety of settings. I am currently student
teaching at a suburban public high school. As an education major, I also have experience
collaborating with other educators to develop creative and effective lesson plans. Your school
district emphasizes its unique position as a school that fosters and encourages collaborating;
therefore, I believe my varied experiences would make me an asset to your school district.

Your school also strives to educate the whole student. I have a great amount of experience
incorporating different instructional methods in my lesson to focus on educating the whole
student in my classrooms. For example, as a student teacher, I had efficiently planned and
delivered a lesson that integrated one of the social emotional standards. I would like to discover
other ways to integrate social emotional activities into my lesson plans.

It is my goal to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate,

enthusiastic, intelligent educator who will make a positive contribution to your school district
