STANDARD #4: Content Knowledge

The standard: The teacher understands the central concepts, tools of inquiry, and
structures of the discipline(s) he or she teaches and creates learning experiences that
make these aspects of the discipline accessible and meaningful for learners to assure
mastery of the content.

Narrative: Utilizing wall space in the

classroom allowed for me to put up
signs and allow the room to serve as a
reminder of all that has been learned
throughout the school year. During
my time student teaching in a
Madison Elementary fourth grade
classroom, numerous mini posters
and anchor charts were created and
compiled to give the classroom
atmosphere a sense of “where we
started, where we are going”.

Reflection: Allowing students to display and engage with anchor charts and posters in the classroom
is a choice I will always take in my classroom.
