Lesson Plan 11/12/19

Objective: ​The student will play “Allegro in G” while keeping time, using correct articulation, and
appropriate dynamics

Procedures:
- The student will warm-up with a 5 finger position in the keys of C, G, D, and A
- The student will warm-up by playing a C scale with hands separate and then together
- The student will play an arpeggio exercise in the key of C to work on intervals
- The student will be given one minute to ghost the first eight measures
- The student will be given feedback will be given and the student will be given one more
minute to ghost any mistakes
- The student will repeat the first eight measures
- The student will be given one minute to ghost the next eight measures
- The student will play and feedback will be given and the student will be given one more
minute to ghost any mistakes
- The student will be given one minute to ghost the last eight measures
- The student will play and feedback will be given and the student will be given one more
minute to ghost any mistakes
- The student will then perform all of “Allegro in G”

Assessment
- The teacher will assess the student’s progress from the start of warm-up to the full
performance of “Allegro in G”
- The teacher will assess the student’s ability to play with hands together
- The teacher will assess the student’s ability to read treble and bass clef
- The teacher will assess the students understanding of different articulation styles and
dynamics
- The teacher will assess the students understanding of playing in the key of G
- The teacher will assess the student’s ability to play with and without time-keeper

Objectives:
- MIAD.1 The student will read and notate music, including
- 1. identifying, defining, and using advanced standard notation for pitch, rhythm,
meter, articulation, dynamics, and other elements of music
- MIAD.8 The student will define and consistently apply music terminology found in the
music literature being studied.
- MIAD.11 The student will demonstrate ensemble skills at an advanced level, including
- 4. maintaining a steady beat at various tempos and performing tempo changes in the
music literature being studied.
