Robot:
It is a programmable-machine which performs many specific functions automatically
under instructions.

 Robots can be guided by an external control device or the control may be embedded
within.
 Robots are designed to execute one or more tasks automatically with speed and precision.
 Robots are designed to perform repetitive tasks that aren’t facilitated by human-like
construction.
 The most advanced robot, which has a built-in artificial system (AI).
 Robots that resembles with Human Beings are known as Androids.

Medical Robots
A medical robot is a robot that is used for medical uses. These robots work in hospitals to assist

Doctors while performing operations or surgery. They also used for rehabilitation and training
purpose.

Types:

Surgical Robots:

 These robots do surgeries with great precision.

 These robots assist the doctor while doing surgery.
 These robots do remote surgeries where a human surgeon is not physically present with
patient.
 These robots enable surgeon to carry out more complex tasks.

Rehabilitation Robots:
  Rehabilitation robots are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in
physiotherapeutic care.
 They primarily serve to assist a qualified therapist administer care.
 These Robots do much of the heavy lifting, such as helping patients reconnect
vital neurons to relearn motor control through repetitive movements.
 Rehabilitation robots can increase the intensity and duration of therapy sessions
while creating a quantifiable framework for reproducible results.

Biorobots:

 Biorobots designed to imitate the cognition of humans and animals.

 Biorobots use genetic engineering to create organisms designed by artificial
means.
 Biorobots mimic the movement of natural creatures.
 Biorobots can creep into narrow spaces to inspect damaged facilities.

Space Robots
Space robots explore various celestial bodies. Tasks like manipulation, surface mobility and science
experiments are performed by space robots.

Planetary Robots

 It is the most advance type of robotics technology used in space research.

 These robots explore and navigate on the celestial bodies.
 They research themselves with the less human intervention.
 They analyze the data collected and send the results back to earth.
Remotely Operated Vehicles

 These robots roam on harsh desert landscapes warzone to collect the data.
 Humans operate these robots using remote and long-transmission radio waves.
 These robots can endure high temperatures.
 These robots can work very well in highly radiated areas.

International Space Stations

 These robots are like spacecrafts system

 These massive manned machines carry astronauts and provide them with life support
systems.
 With the help of these crafts astronauts explore the space and collect all the possible
data.
 These stations communicate humans with space.
Military Robots
Military robots are autonomous robots or remote-controlled mobile robots designed for military
applications, from transport to search & rescue and attack.

Cargo Carriers
 These are military robots that are used for transportation missions.
 They can carry ammunition, weaponry, supplies or everything else.
 Military transportation robots can increase the efficiency of logistics as well as aid
soldiers in movement.
 It can do other tasks as well - such as landmine disposal, route clearance and others.

Fire Fighting Robots

 These robots are connected to a water hydrant and used for fire extinguishing.
 Firefighting robots save a lot of lives every day by putting off fire.
 These robots can be thrown into the fire site to inspect the situation, as well as large
remote controlled fire extinguishers.

Unmanned underwater Robots

 These are robots that can swim underwater.
 These robots can be used for surveillance purposes as well as for search and rescue
missions.
 These robots are also used for helping submarines in emergency condition.
 These robots also used to take scenario of underwater to check the conditions for weapon
tests.
Domestic Robots
A domestic robot is a type of service robot, an autonomous robot that is primarily used
for household chores, but may also be used for education, entertainment or therapy. These robots
are used to save the time and reduce labor.

Robotic vacuums
 Robotic vacuum cleaners are the most known household robots to general public.
 This robot has a different approach at vacuuming if compared with other popular vacuum
cleaners.
 This is achieved with a laser-vision system and room mapping ability. So, this robot
vacuum cleaner basically creates a map of its environment and cleans it systematically.
 It can be scheduled to clean at predefined times, it can return to its home base, recharge,
and resume work by itself.

Lawn Mowing Robots

 A robotic lawn mower is a lawn mower that is able to mow a lawn by itself after being
programmed.
 This invention repeats the operation by itself according to its programming.
 Robotic lawn mowers come with a power unit which may be an electric motor or internal
combustion engine. This provides power to the robot and allows it to move itself and its
cutting blades.
 This unit also contains a memory unit which records and memorizes its operation
programming.

Window Cleaning Robots

 Window cleaning robots are most commonly used to clean outdoor windows, more
specifically house windows.
 This robot contains a movement system which allows the robot to navigate itself across
the window surface in a defined direction.
 It also has a powered agitator located by the cleaning pad.
 The cleaning pad directly interacts with the window surface and is directly responsible
for removing the dirt by filling itself with specialized window cleaning fluid.
