    Checklist

    1. Preparation Introduce self and identify the patient.
    Explain the procedure.
    Obtain verbal consent from the patient.
    Verify and check medication to be given.
    Gather appropriate equipment (type, size, etc.).
    2. Technique Perform hand wash.
    Wear clean gloves.
    Prepare medication (ensure already expelled air) and place it in a receiver (kidney
    dish).

    3. Technique - Check patency of IV line to ensure it is running smoothly.
