Clinical Practicum III

November 5, 2019

On October 5, 2019, I volunteered my catering services to Danielle’s 6 th Annual Survivor

Celebration. Danielle is a 10-year breast cancer survivor and enjoys blessing other women that
are going through the same battle. She provides them with a dinner, entertainment, and a
keepsake. This event took place at Russell’s Weddings and Events, a private venue located in
Augusta, Georgia. The dinner served was: Stuffed Chicken Breast Marsala, Savory Macaroni
and Cheese, Whole French Green Beans, Garlic Parmesan Mashed Potatoes, Tossed Garden
Salad, and New York Style Cheesecake. A local comedian presented 30 minutes of jokes and a
disc jockey played incredible music for dancing.

Earlier this year, Danielle reached out to me about my catering services. I immediately
let her know that I wanted to cater her event at no charge. As a radiation therapist, I have been
blessed to be able meet so many cancer fighters over the past twelve years. Even though my
patients do not realize it, they encourage and help me more than I do them. They have motivated
me to be a better person, a great radiation therapist, and have inspired me to advance in my
career as Medical Dosimetrist. The past four semesters of medical dosimetry school have been
long, hard, tiresome, and at times overwhelming. But when I think of the goodness of God and
how he brought each of the 50 cancer survivors (and every single patient that I have touched in
radiation therapy) at Danielle’s event through their battles, I know that my BEST is yet to come.
Donating my services for this event was the least that I could do. I look forward to donating my
catering services for years to come.
