My vacation
In February of last year, I traveled with my family to the jungle to the city of
Oxapampa to visit my aunt. We arrived at night and we stayed at his house, but
I realized that I could see many stars and the clear sky.
The morning of the next day, when I went to walk around the place, I realized that
Oxapampa is a city with a good environmental culture, because every time I
continued and kept walking, I didn´t find trash on the ground, besides there were
few cars in the place and more motorcycles.
When we went to the tourist centers as, for example, the native community of
Yáneshas, being in this place, it´s as if time had stopped and the technology had
never arrived, it felt good, because I wasn´t stressed anymore and I felt free of all
kinds of technology, it was like being part of nature.
The next day, when we went to see the falls, on the way I met many armed
policemen, they were very polite because they greeted all the people. People
said that the police were in the place because there were drug traffickers, about
the place where the falls were.
The last day, I was excited because I was going to Ymilchaga Chemillen National
Park, the place is famous for the variety of research with plants and trees to fight
various diseases. The guide told us that getting to the center of this park was one
day of walking and that surprised me because the place is very big.
During my vacation, I understood how good it feels to be free of technology and
that we can improve our environmental culture as it’s done in Oxapampa.
