For a trait to be dominant, it means you only need one allele for that trait to express the
phenotype. Since there are two alleles, one on each chromosome, this trait is always expressed.
An individual with two dominant alleles is homozygous dominant and an individual with only
one dominant allele is heterozygous.

Revised:
A dominant trait requires only one of the dominant alleles to be expressed in an individual’s
phenotype. Therefore, this trait is always expressed. A homozygous dominant individual will
have two dominant alleles, while a heterozygous individual will only have one dominant allele.

For this revision, I tried to make my sentences more concise by rearranging words and placing
descriptive words before the subject. I also removed verbiage that didn’t aid in the paragraph’s
purpose.
