Based on the data, there are four peace concepts that are found in the content and performance

standards. Among the four (4) grade levels, Grade 7 has more themes compared to Grade 8 and Grade
10 which has one each. It is can be noted that in Grade 9, there is no peace concept found.

The Lasallian Guiding Principles contain four peace concepts. It is worth noting that all four concepts are
found occurring in all grade levels primarily because all grade levels adhere to the same Lasallian
Guiding Principles.

Stage 1 which is Establishing Desired Results reflect several peace concepts. Grade 8 has the most
number of peace concepts which is eighteen (18) followed by Grade 7 with fourteen (14) concepts.
Grade 9 has the least number of peace concepts reflected which is five (5). This can be probably due to
the notion that some peace concepts have been introduced earlier in Grade 7 and 8. Though in Grade 10
there are eleven (11) peace concepts that are reflected. From the data, it can be noted that there are
peace concepts that are repeated or emphasized in at least three (3) grade levels. Among these are
building cultural respect, socially responsible, asserting one’s identity and critical thinking. Other peace
concepts are either repeated two (2) times among the grade levels such as respect for others,
establishing linkage and connection, cooperation and solidarity, dignifying one’s daily dialogue,
responsible behavior, caring for the planet, loving one’s communicative neighbor, probing into the
matter and concern for truth. The rest of the peace concepts occurred only once in certain grade levels.
The differences in occurrence probably could be due differences in topics, motivation, essential …… and
probably due to delivery of the contents by individual teachers. At De La Salle Lipa, specific groups of
English teachers are assigned to specific grade levels.
