The Declaration of Independence was a document made to, as the name states, declare

independence and break away from Great Britain. There were many purposes to create the
Declaration of Independence, but primarily it was to break away from Britain constantly abusing
their power over America (whether that be taxing or forced removal of items/etc). Another
reason is to invite more reluctant colonists to join the Americas to take a stand and have more
freedom than what Great Britain was offering. The founders of the Declaration of Independence
wanted people to feel patriotic and encouraged to fight for their freedom.
