The Story of James

and Fate

Written by Ki’yell Groves and Illustrated by Isis

Hollins
Today was the day that two
young engineers would learn the
safety rules of the lab.
James and Fate were pals in the
lab.
James was a confident young lad
while Fate was a sweet, but shy
young lady.
James loved making toys with
his dad in his lab and asked his
father if Fate and him could do
experiments in his engineering
room.

.
“Why of course Fate and
you may do an experiment in
the engineering room”, said
James father.

Know that if you do this

James, you must go over the
safety rules with Fate first
before using any of my
machines.

“Of course papa, I will

make sure to go over all of the
rules with her .”
The next day James and
Fate both went inside the
engineering room.

“First, we must wear our

safety glasses Fate.”

Fate put on her safety glasses.

James had laughed at her

because of how silly she
looked.
“Fate, you must also be aware
of all the machines in the
engineering room too.”

“You must also make sure to

call my father if there are any
accidents.”

“Of course James. I wouldn’t

want to injure myself around
the machines,”said Fate.

.
“Do you know what to do in
case of a small fire happening
Fate?”

“Yell for for your Father?”

“Well yes and also do you see

this? It’s a fire extinguisher.
Make sure to use it if need be,
but only if you REALLY need
to Fate.”, James explained.

Okay James, Fate agreed.

.
As James was going through
all the rules, he saw Fate eating
some chocolate and then
throwing the wrapper on the
floor.
“Fate, if you’re going to
bring any type of trash in here,
please make sure to throw it
away and remember eating in
the lab isn’t allowed”, said
James.
Doing this would make the
workspace more neat.
“Okay James,”replied Fate.
.
Fate you see all of these
tools right?
“Yes,”said Fate.

All tools in the lab must be

organized at all times.
“Why though James?”

“So that we are able to use

all the machines without junk
or clutter.

“I understand James, so that

no injuries will happen”,said
. Fate.
And most important of all Fate,
there should be no kind of
horseplay in here.

“So no running around James?”,

asked Fate.

“Why yes”, said James. That

means no punching, kicking, or any
other type of physical stuff
either.

“You’re right James. I think

we’ve gone over all of the safety
rules for the engineering lab.” ,
said Fate excitedly.
“So what have we gone over Fate?,
James asked.
In the lab, safety goggles
should always be on, there’s no
eating, we have aware of the
machines, we have organize the
tools, and we should call your
father if there’s an accident, and
no horse playing allowed.

“Great Fate!”, exclaimed James.

Let’s finally build this metallic

post!
