ABSTRACT

National parks, wildlife sanctuaries, and protected areas dedicated for nature
serves as a tool aiding in conserving the world’s natural resources. Thus, benefiting
many living things in many ways. Establishing an area as a wildlife sanctuary and
research facility can help save it from being harmed from destruction and urbanization.
Wetlands and bird species may be protected from hunters, predators, pollution and
other activities by ownership and management by environmental organizations
suggesting the best assurance of preserving and maintaining the highest value of
wetlands and its inhabitants for the future generation to see.

The proposed site is situated at the coasts of the cities of Las Pinas and
Paranaque. The site already has an abundant bird habitat such as mangroves, beach
forests, lagoons and mudflats. The site is an important resting and feeding area for
migratory birds coming from the East Asian-Australian Migratory Flyway. Establishing
an eco-tourism complex and research center can aid in revitalizing and enhancing the
wide diversity of the existing ecosystem. The whole wetland complex would comprise
of structures that would convey to the public the importance of conservation and
proper use of wetlands. The whole complex would be a high-tourist destination, a
center for education and an environment suited for its inhabitants.
