SWBAT – Student will be able to identify animals within their homes
3. Materials/Equipment:
• Plastic animals
• Paper
• Scissors (handled by adults)
• Color pencils, crayons and markers
• Paper towel roll
• Foam paper
• Cardboard paper
• PowerPoint
4. Teaching:

B. Extension activity:
1. We will look at a PowerPoint of the animals housing.
2. I will bring out a bucket of animals without houses
3. Students will then choose an animal house they can create for our plastic animals
4. Students will be able to use any material needed for them to do their house.
5. We will take about 25 minutes doing the activity
6. While students are doing the activity, I will place the animal around the room.
7. Once they are done, they will place it by the animal
5. Closure:
• For closure I will have the students explain what animal they chose and how they did
their house. (students have great creativity)

• Writing utensils: markers, crayons, colored pencils, stamps, etc.
• Paper- either white or colored

B. Extension activity:
• Students will be writing a little about what they want to do when they are older
o Students will be able to grad their material
o They will go sit down and either draw or write what they want to do.
o Explain to them that it can be a fire fighter or owing a house.
o You will then show them your paper with your future plans.
5. Closure:
• Everyone will come together and share what they want to be.
• We will then together pin our papers up for motivation around the classroom.

SWBAT – Students will demonstrate a moment in which they were proud/happy.
3. Materials/Equipment:
• Paper
• Pencil

B. Extension activity:
• I will make a model activity of a day I was proud/very happy.
• I will explain to the students as to how I felt and what it made me feel. (ex. I was excited
and happy, I was jumping around my living room.)
• I will then give them 2 minutes to think about a day they felt the same.
• We will then go around the classroom and have then tell us their emotions.
• After everyone is done, we will write someone a letter and tell them who proud we are of
them.
5. Closure:
• I will then collect the letters and before the day ends pass them out before they go home.

SWBAT – Students will be able to use their critical thinking skill in writing their own story.

• Paper
• Writing Utensils
• Pre-made book
• PowerPoint
• Laminator
• Laminating Paper

A. Reading the book

• (Premade book by the teacher)
• Teacher will read the book she has already made to students.
• Students and teacher will discuss about the teacher’s book.
• Teacher will then talk about the different kinds of genres there is to students.
• Students will then be able to get up and pick their own material to make a book
themselves. (Teacher will encourage to write a book without words so their classmates
can use their imagination)
• After writing their book, they can share it within their tables.
• (Teacher will then collect them and laminate them all)
5. Closure:
• The teacher will then be processed to tie all the books around the classroom so that the
next morning they can read each other’s books.
• We will then write in our journals about the book they read.

• I explain how lovely and welcoming my class is.
• I will then be processed to discuss how “Popcorn works” (it’s where I choose one
student who starts it off then they call another until every person has been picked)
• I will explain to tell how we are going to take 5 minutes to give everyone a
compliment today.
• It can be small for example “I really like your shoes today” or “Your shirt is nice”
• I will explain how important it is to include everyone in the classroom because
when in school we all belong together.
5. Closure:
• We are going to write our favorite thing about our classroom.
• I will put them outside our classroom to show how happy the students are to be in a close
classroom.

• I am going to send out a notice about bringing in something that has been
in their family for more then a year. Not something extremely valuable, we
don’t want it to use it. (This will go out the day before)
• (Day off) I will bring in a family ring that my grandmother had when
women violence was big in Cd. Juarez. I will tell them the background we
have had with our ring.
5. Closure:
• A show and tell! It’s important to show them the appreciation we have for their
background.

• Individual braille charts will be printed out for every student.
• We will discuss the importance of learning braille for our friends/peers.
• I will explain how today we are going to be writing our name in braille.
• We will be using glue dots so we can feel the letters.
5. Closure:
• We will be going on a walk through the hallway so the students can feel on the braille
outside the bathroom, classroom, and etc.
