Statistical treatment of Data

To determine the result of the study, One-way ANOVA was employed to analyze the

data to arrive at the conclusion that the assumed mean is equal. Furthermore, using the 1%

confidence interval, we can conclude that 99% of our calculation is true.

The following are the assumed hypotheses:

𝐻0 = µ1 = µ2 = µ3

𝐻1 ≠ µ1 ≠ µ2 ≠ µ3

With the above mentioned assumptions, we state the following:

𝐻0 (Null hypothesis) has no difference among the mean of lemongrass extract in treating

the larvicidal by minutes.

𝐻𝑎 𝑜𝑟 𝐻1 (Alternative hypothesis) the mean of each treatment is different from others.

Table 1. Time treated in minutes

Control treatment Treating time(minutes)

30 ml extract 36 .10%
40 ml extract 32.68%
50 ml extract 31.22%

Table 1 shows the percentage of time treated to kill larvicidal by lemongrass

(Cymbopogon citrates) extract. The smaller the value treated, the better effect of the treatment,

and the bigger the value treated the lesser effect of the treatment. Hence, based on the data

shown on above 50 ml lemongrass (Cymbopogon citrates) extract is better to treat of killing

larvacidal comparing to 30 ml and 40 ml treatment.

Treatment 2 1,240.23 620.115 11.0086 10.92 0.01
Error 6 338 56.33

Table 1 shows the mean square of the treatment. Based from the calculated data, as

shown in the table, F-statistics F(2, 6) is greater than the probability value. Since 11.0086 ≥

10.92 (p-value ≤ 0.01), therefore we reject 𝐻0 .

At the α = 0.01 level of significance, 99% of the study that there exist enough evidence to

conclude that the mean of the lemongrass (Cymbopogon citrates) extract differs in milliliter to

kill larvicidal by putting 30 ml, 40 ml, and 50 ml lemongrass (Cymbopogon citrates) extract

which varies by time in minutes.
