Envisioning the same vision

Making the vision happen, for me, is to see teaching as a profession where I can
offer the best of myself and wholeness which is carried out through being totally
present in the classroom and in student’s reality despite one’s challenges and
difficulties in their behavior and attitudes. Total presence comprises the quality
of preparation in terms of plotting well a lesson plan, being capable of thoughtful
and insightful pedagogy, the capacity to be intellectually honest and taking
learning as an attitude of life not only as a stage of life that once I finish it, I stop.
A continuous learning must be seen in the life of the teachers. This is also my
challenge as a novice in the educational field.

Going into what is within of student and let it come out is the very essence of
education, therefore, the holistic formation that we are prompting to apply today
in our education system is not only concerned with the academic or intellectual
excellence of the students but also their character and emotional excellence.
Personally, this is a very difficult and demanding responsibility, because in this
complex aspect, parents are the first motivators and educators, we are only
second party and supporters. Therefore, in collaboration with the parents,
holistic formation of the students could be done, not forgetting its challenges.

Lastly, I’d like to underscore the importance of the educational community.

School is a little society for kids and young people. They see examples in the
school as they grow and mature in this remarkable setting. Young people are
attracted to the example of people, no longer on the sophistication of one’s
speech. As a teacher, I see it very important that the environment in which we
are must cultivate a culture of freedom where kids and young people can express
themselves and offer the best of themselves through their character, personality,
talents and intelligence. I would go on spontaneous way of teaching with
professionalism not on acting out what we are not.
