Investigating on sodium properties

Materials:
 Beaker 1
 Beaker 2
 Sodium
 Scissors
 Water
Procedures
1. Fill both beakers with a little water
2. Cut a small piece of sodium with the scissors
3. Put the small piece of sodium in the water in one of the beakers
4. Watch and make observations

Observations
 Sodium releases a white powder when getting dissolved in the water, which makes you choke
 Releases smoke during the process
 Turns white when it touches the water
 Turns into sphere
Conclusions
 Shiny/luster metal
 Very reactive metal
