Cinnamon Bun

Type of Game: Name Game/Icebreaker

Group size: No less than 10 people

Approximate time: 10-15 minutes

Props: No props

Basic Objective: To show how similar people can be within any group.

Instructions: There is a person in the middle of the room standing with their
elbows out and then announces an interesting fact about themselves. The other
participants will listen to what they have to say and if that fact is also true about
themselves, they will run to link arms with the person in the center. Only one
person can link up after each fact. This is when they start forming the “Cinnamon
Bun” chain around the person in the middle. The second half of the game is for the
unraveling of the cinnamon bun. To unravel the person at the end of the chain,
they must say something unique to them, and if no one shares that fact with them,
the person at the end can unlink from the chain.

Variations: Option to not do the unravel portion of the activity.

Debrief: Discuss how everyone has similarities with others, even if it may be only
one other shares that unique fact, but it helps to bring us all together. Meanwhile,
everyone has their own unique thing that they bring to the table that no one else
does, as discovered in the unraveling.
