Hi, so in this portfolio I will be explaining my Research essay, rhetorical analysis, different genre

project, and some other pieces of work that I have been working on. When looking at my

research project my goal was trying to find a subject that is prevalent in society, but isn't talked

about very much. The product is evident as I think that this shows exactly how important the

subject is to society. Through working on the project I was able to see just how much the societal

issues we have now affect our look at the thoughts of male suicide and female suicide. I probably

am most proud of the statistics that I have found to use in the paper. I probably am least happy

about the ending portion of the paper, I just couldn’t find the right way to express it. If I was to

do it differently, I would probably try to put a more eloquent ending to that part of the paper.

When going over my musical memoir I was intending to try and explain my fascination with

music. This one really shows that as my goal, cause i go through just how I evolved my taste and

my enjoyment of music. After finishing it, I was able to fully see just how far my tastes in music

have come from the beginning. Most of it I feel is quite good, and im prode of it all, I can't really

see many parts of it that are really not what I wanted from them. If i was to actually redo the

paper I would try to add a bit more dialogue to the story.

The Alternative genre project was a very interesting as my goal was to get a serious messege

about suicide to a much younger type audience. This one works very well because the story can

be understood by many, but helps to get across the much bigger actually meaning and problem.

After finishing it, it helped me to see just why lots of people choose this as a way to convey

serious issues to younger people. I feel very satisfied with the concept and its integration,
however the dialogue and a few other pieces of the story can be better written out, and I would

probably try and fix those on a second attempt.

When thinking about how much my writing has changed since I started out with the class, I

would have to say it has become more eloquent, I've become more able to flow words together

better and set up the skeleton of a paper together. That probably is the best class that we had,

were the ones that helped to show the layout of where to start in the paper. Of course even with

those i still had a lack of faith in the layout of my work or not putting enough information to get

the point across in some, but Dr. Cassel always helped me to make it right. The thing that

probably helped me out the most is simply that I need to have more confidence in my work,

when I feel confident in my work Im able to focus and make a much better paper then I would

simply worrying about every single different piece of it.
