Etiquette for Audience

1. No talking, unless audience participation is requested, and avoid other sounds that can disturb the
people and the performers. If something must be said, whisper it quickly. Excessively shushing a
talkative neighbor can be just as disturbing. Muffle Coughs and sneezes with a handkerchief.
Cellphones, tablets, and any other sound-making gadgets should be put to silent mode.
2. Remove hats as not to block the view of the people behind.
3. Don’t keep standing or leaving seats.
4. Don’t take flash photos or videos during the play. This may distract the performers.
5. Clapping is the appropriate way to show appreciation for the performance rather than whistling or
cheering. This should be done only after the performance.

Etiquette for Performers


1. Be on the venue early and prepared with what you need.
2. Dress appropriately
3. Don’t wave or talk to the person beside you during performance.
4. Always look at the conductor while singing. Don’t let your eyes travel somewhere else. Presence of
mind.
