[10] ¢)_ Cross section of a double circuit twin conductor transmission line is shown in figure QI. Each of the conduetors is of 20 mm radius and twin conductors are placed 20 em apart from each other. Conductors ofthe fist circuit take the positions on the left Side while the conductors ofthe second cireuit occupy the positions on the right side i. Using a suitable diagram show how the conductor pairs of left circuit (al.82), (b1,b2) & (c1,€2) and the conductor pairs of the right circuit (al".a2"), (b1'b2°) & (c1"4e2') are placed in one of the transposed sections in order to achieve Best performance (20) fi, Also show the conductor arrangements inthe two remaining sections. Figure Q3 shows a network for which a power flow study is to be carried out. All the quantities indicated in the figure are in per unit on 100 MVA base. Use appropriate DC load flow techniques in answering the following parts. You may neglect the resistive components (of the transmission line impedances in answering the parts a), b) and c). a) Taking node | as the reference, calculate the bus-bar voltage angles. [40] 4) Also calculate the power flows in the lines 12, 14, 23, 34 and 45. [20] ©) Give the matrix equation relating reactive power injected to the nodes to the magnitudes of the node voltages. Give numerical values for all known quantities in the matrix equation. However solution ofthe matrix equation is not required. [20] 4) Calculate total transmission loss using results in b) above.
