Itis a great pleasure to recommend Jennifer LeChard for this teaching position. | worked with
Ms. LeChard as @ special education teacher at DeWitt High School from September to
December 2019.
During her internship, Ms. LeCharc's professionalism and work ethic impressed me
immediately. Whether it be attending after school professional development meetings or asking
for ways to assist, Ms. LeChard went above and beyond the expectations of an intem, She
‘worked well with itinerant staff and counselors updating them on student progress, as welll as
collaborating with general and special education teachers,
Ms. LeChatd also demonstrated her skills as a teacher through many different types of lessons,
including reading and writing instruction and study skills. Additionally, she has a broad base of
knowledge 'in all academic areas which is critical when helping students within the general
curriculum. In-addition (0 small group instruction, Ms. LeChard effectively co-taught a general,
physics class. Sharing her expertise with working with various learning styles, Ms. LeChard
was successful with guiding students through the challenging curriculum. She gained valuable
experience working with students with various disabilities, including emotional impairments,
‘Autism Spectrum Disorder, and leaming disabilities. Ms. LeChard was able to accurately
monitor progress on the studlents’ goals and objectives of their Individualized Education Plans
(IEPs), write detailed progress reports, and coniribute specific feedback and observations
curing IEPs.
Hiring Ms. LeChard would only benefit any district. She puts in the extra time and care that is
needed in this profession. She's willing to learn, ask questions, and be a part of a school
community. Whether it be during an Open'House, Parent-Teacher conferences or IEPs, Ms.
LeChard interacted with families and students showing the utmost care and compassion.
Working with frustrated and struggling students is indeed challenging, and Ms. LeChard
remained positive and patient in each unique situation.
Ms. LeChard has the necessary foundational skills to becoming a highly effective special
education teacher. Her sirong work ethic, professionalism, understanding of diverse leamers,
attention to detail, compassion, and overall iove of teaching will bring her much success in this
profession. Ms, LeChard has a very bright future ahead of her.
