113B Course Reflection

English and writing has always been a challenge for me. I have a difficult time finding

the right words to express my position on a topic. Sometimes this gets out of hand and my

writing begins to spiral all over the place. However, I am grateful that I decided to take this

English course with Dr. Khadka because his dedication to the class is amazing. It is rare that you

find a professor that will dedicate his time to his profession rather than leaving students to figure

it out on their own. I made sure that I utilized my time when he held the One on One conferences

for the crisis essay. After the One on One, I had a better understanding of my essay and

understood the next steps I had to take to finalize my essay. After taking 2 years off of school, I

was worried about coming back to CSUN and taking an English course. I felt as if I was going to

fall behind and not understand a single lecture held by the professor, but Dr. Khadka made it

possible for me to enjoy the course. I did not feel overwhelmed as I thought I would. During the

making of websites, it was difficult for me because I had no knowledge of creating a website and

posting blogs or just getting creative with it. However, I actually enjoyed learning all the tools

that can be done in the website. These tools will be helpful to me because I will be looking back

at this course as a reference to the possibilities. Dr. Khadka made this course enjoyable and

helpful. I would definitely recommend other students in taking this course. I feel a lot more

confident now than I felt when I first started the semester.

The assignment I enjoyed the most was the project space video. The assignment consisted

of a group choosing a public space and a private space and deciding which is considered the third

space. The beach was a public space that the group had chosen and Instagram was chosen as our

private space. Although there was a student in the group that contribute absolutely nothing, the

rest of the group and I were able to decide that the beach is a third space. I enjoyed taking my

time with the project and being able to work as a group to get this assignment done. This course

has definitely taught me to be a better writer and enjoy the creative process that comes with it.
