Macro Security Set Up for Monitor Logbook

Using MS Excel 2007

Determine which version of Excel is running


Press Function key F1. Does a sidepanel appear to the right?
YES:-
The application is Excel 2003. Close this side panel by pressing on the X in the top-
right corner.
NO:-
A new window has appeared. If connected to the internet, this will indicate which
version is running (2007 or 2010).
If not connected to the internet, when the window appears, select Getting Started
with Excel.
The page that appears will display which version is running.

Before working with the Monitor Logbook for the first time:

1. Load Excel 2007 and click on the ‘Start’ icon in the top left corner
2. Click on the ‘Excel Options’ button at the bottom of the drop down menu

3. Click on the ‘Trust Center’ Tab


4. Click on ‘Trust Center Settings…’
5. Click on the ‘Trusted Locations’ tab
6. Click on ‘Add new location…’

7. Type ‘C:\Monitor’ into the path field. This is the folder that contains the Logbook file.
8. Press ‘OK’
9. The Trust Centre window will reappear with the added Trusted Location

10. Click on the ‘Macro Settings’ Tab


11. Click on the circle next to ‘Disable all macros without notification’
12. Click ‘OK’

13. Open the Monitor Logbook
