When top flanges of Bulb-T sections interfere with the installation of bridge deck drain pipes, a

fiberglass reinforced epoxy pipe sleeve shall be provided and located within the limits shown

below.

When the location of deck drain pipe will not provide the minimum distance from edge of top

flange to pipe sleeve shown above, the designer shall either decrease the length of deck

cantilever or locate the deck drain pipe outside the top flange.

For plans with deck drains where top flange sleeves are required, details of the pipe sleeve shall

be provided on the miscellaneous beam detail sheet.
