Goals: Students will explore their personal experiences and current understandings to
determine their own invincibility. They will have the opportunity to explore other
perspectives to better strengthen their own thoughts. Their responses may or may not
allude to their cellular level. The How Invincible Are You unit will then be introduced,
which challenges students to consider their cells. Students will begin brainstorming in
what ways their cells did or did not play a role in the examples that were discussed in
class. Questions will be generated of what they might want/need to know about cells
to better understand their invincibility.
